All Creatures Great and Small

"And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:21-22.

Mankind in general and artists in particular have long admired the beauty and grace of creatures in the wild, as well as those of a domestic nature. This exhibition features paintings, sculpture, and works on paper that capture the spirit of man’s love for creatures great and small. Both European and American artists of the 18th through the 20th century are included.
