Leo Blake: A Midwesterner Paints New England

This summer, Childs Gallery features an exhibition of the watercolors and oils of Leo Blake (1887-1986). On view until September 1st, “Leo Blake: A Midwesterner Paints New England” reveals the sensitivity, beauty, and technical prowess with which Leo Blake approached the New England landscape he so loved. Though a Chicagoan by birth, Blake’s adoration of the Northeastern landscape—whether autumn foliage, sleepy summer harbors, or snow-capped villages—is evident throughout this exhibition.
