From the estate of the artist, estate stamp verso.For this painting, the artist set up his easel on the Winooski River across from Plainfield, VT and painted a view of the town segmented by the curving, intersecting willow branches on the riverbank. The result is a brightly colored, kaleidoscopic abstract design. Several versions of this motif exist.
