Alice Ruggles Sohier
American (1880-1969)
Alice Ruggles Sohier was born in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1880. She studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School under Edmund Tarbell, and won a Paige traveling scholarship to Europe. She was a member of the Boston Guild of Artists and the Concord Artists Association. Sohier exhibited widely during her lifetime, and has work in the State House, Boston; Episcopal Theological School, Cambridge; State Savings Bank, Albany, NY; and the Metropolitan Opera House, New York.
