Hardie 187. Inscribed lower left: "A9", 9 of 20 American Editions. Signed twice, lower right and on plate : "James McBey". Signed, inscribed date of original study followed by publication on plate: "James McBay Sinai july 1917 1919". A fine impression in fine condition aside for slight discoloration on sheet edges. On sheet measuring: 8 x 12 5/8 inches. From the collection of Professor and Mrs. Daniel Bell, Cambridge MA. 1 of 7 prints featuring a camel patrol of nine Australians starting from a post on the Suez Canal into the desert of Sinai towards Beersheba. The first date after the signature gives the date when the original study was made while the artist was with the Patrol. The date 1919 gives the year of completion and publication. In this print the camel patrol has arrived at its destination.
