Gammell Trust #1995-03. Gammell was fascinated by the way certain concepts recur over time and in vastly different civilizations. Here he shows the central figure as a primitive man in an evocative landscape surrounded by symbols representing the “oughts and shoulds” of his civilization. The owl perched on a branch is a symbol of wisdom. Exhibited: “The Undraped Figure”, St. Botolph Club, January – February 2004.
