In fine condition aside from small tear lower right. Inscribed upper right, “15 Oct 1837”. Most likely painted “en plein aire.” Lindsay exhibited several watercolor studies from nature at the Royal Society of British Artists in 1833 and 1834. He was a member of the British Institution and the New Watercolour Society. Many of his works are held by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
