In 1970 Warhol worked with the Cowles Communications company and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Art and Technology Program to create the installation Rain Machine (Daisy Waterfall). This striking and innovative work incorporated a fountain and a wall of Xographic (3 D) prints of flowers. It was specifically created for the United States Pavilion at Expo ’70 in Osaka, Japan. While an estimated 160 prints were created for the installation, many have been lost or destroyed.
