American Artists Group impressions are characterized by the block inscriptions described above, the absence of a pencil signature, and a printed grey border surrounding the image extending 1 1/2- 1 3/4 inches. A group of pencil-signed impressions exists outside the AAG edition, although the number is uncertain. The Museum of Fine Arts, Springfield catalogue, “New England Engraved: The Prints of Asa Cheffetz” (Springfield: 1984), lists an impression signed and dated in pencil lower right, and titled lower left.
