Grego II 250. Signed in plate lower left: “Drawn by Rowlandson.”. Inscribed lower center: “Published Jan 1 1820 at R. Ackermann’s 101 Strand. A fine impression in fine condition aside from loss at lower right corner and staining, with full margins. After the successful publication of the first “Tour of Doctor Syntax in Search of the Picturesque” in 1812, which went through five editions in two years, Rowlandson created in 1820 a second volume in the series, “Doctor Syntax in Search of Consolation.” This print was the second plate in this 1820 volume. Satirical print.
