Poulet-Malassis 142; Bliss 142 xi/XI, with letters; edition published in the French journal, “L’Art”. Inscribed in plate from left to right: “A. Legros pinx. & sculp. / L’Art. – LA MORT ET LE BÛCHERON. – Imp. A. Salmon, Paris.” A fine impression on laid paper, in fine condition aside from very light spots of toning in the margins, two small tears in the lower margin and one in the right margin, not extending to image, printed on sheet measuring 17 1/2 x 12 inches. Published: “L’Art,” no. 93, 8 octobre, 1876.
