Rembrandt

Dutch (1606-1669)

Man Wearing a Close Cap, 1630
Etching
3×2516IN.CM

Bartsch 304; Hind 21 iv/V; Nowell-Usticke 304 iv/VI, with the background shaded. With collector’s marks verso of E.F. Opperman (Lugt 887), J. Rosenberg (Lugt 1519), and Dr. A. Strater (Lugt 787). Printed on laid paper. Trimmed to the platemark. A very fine impression with wonderfully expressive etching lines, in very fine condition, with very minimal hinge and adhesive residue verso. This impression is crisper and clearer than the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston impression of the same state.
