Initialed lower left: “P. E. Jr”.
From the Tales of the American Burden, Y-9 Post Burden (P.B.).
Number 5 in C.W. Boyle’s Burden chronology guide: “Though small, this painting is notable for being the first image artist P.J. Endres Jr. painted of David Ocampo after his now infamous re-heading. From this moment on, the reanimated superman became the self-proclaimed sole, ‘Protector of Boston’, though Bostonians secretly adorned him with another moniker, ‘The Tyrant King’.
Ocampo immediately threw off the yoke of Whig leadership, though fearful of his wrath, the Whigs continued to rally behind their new leader. Ocampos” first order of business was to save the city of Boston, which meant to crush the remaining rebel U.A.L. army, and rebuild the war-torn city in his likeness.”
