Rimonim is the first of a series of prints designed during the pandemic. Rimonim means pomegranate in Hebrew, and also refers to the finials adorning the top ends of rollers of the Torah. The first Torah finials may have been shaped like pomegranates. This print illustrates strong choices of color, pattern and composition. It is created using a combination of antique opera glasses superimposed with a gorgeous fabric pattern from a vintage lingerie bag. Finials in gold and silver enhance the composition, along with the rich pomegranate color and regal purple. Righteousness, sanctity, fertility and abundance are all symbolized by pomegranates.
