Illustrated in a limited luxury edition of “Discours des Misères de ce Temps,” a poem written by the French poet Pierre de Ronsard (1524-1585) and first published in 1562. Paris: Le Fuseau Chargé de Laine, 4 vol., 1930. Illustrated with engravings by Albert Decaris. A number of the works illustrated in the “Discours” were selected by the artist for outside editions of 100 signed, numbered proofs, to which this impression belongs. The “Discours” dealt with the outbreak of the Wars of Religion between the Catholics and Huguenots in 1562.
