Here, McCall poses as his drag queen persona, Jeanie Holiday, alongside his friend Tracy Monroe. McCall and several of his friends bonded through drag as they explored their gender-nonconforming identities and the creative freedom of transforming into drag queens. Drag also provided them with an outlet to challenge societal restrictions around gender and sexuality and served as a vehicle to become their own “divas,” worthy of love and praise.
