Meaume 683; Lieure 557, State i/I. Probably an 18th century impression. From “La Noblesse Lorraine”, a series of 12 etchings, each depicting a contemporary aristocrat from the Lorraine region of France, many of whom were probably friends and relatives of the artist. A fine impression in fine condition aside from three vertical creases extending the full height of the print. Margins trimmed just within the platemark except for thread margin at upper right and lower left edges. This suite of etchings has been dated according to Andre Felibien as discussed in the National Gallery of Art catalogue. Other scholars and sources have dated it 1624 or circa 1624.
