Morgan Horse is a later and rather personal work by Kitson. She owned horses later in life and she may well have owned the model for this horse. It is the study for Victory, a full-sized bronze equestrian statue at the waterfront in Hingham, Massachusetts. The smaller maquette sat in plaster in the bay window of the stairwell of her house in Sherborn, Massachusetts during her life and well after her death when in the hands of her heirs. It had never been cast in bronze in her lifetime and was first cast in 2003 at the request of the current owner of Kitson’s house.
