Remembered by McCall as an aspiring politician and Dionne Warwick fanatic, Joey found inspiration in divas such as Warwick whose mannerisms he often mimicked. For Joey, Warwick reminded him of his mother and was the epitome of class and sophistication. Like many within the LGBTQ+ community, Joey had an admiration for a diva that was tied to memories of those we love and the characteristics we hope to embody.
