Howlett 25. Signed both sides: “DONALD DeLUE SOM 111th ISSUE AUG 1985”. Struck by the Medallic Art Company, CT. Obverse: Male nude figure struggling against the boundaries of the medal. Reverse: Back of male nude. In De Lue’s own words, the purpose of this medal was to “transcend the conventional limitations of medallic sculpture.” The dual image of man pushing against his boundaries is symbolic of both human and artistic levels.
