“De Lue exhibited the patinated plaster of Faun at the Architectural League of New York in 1938. This was one of the earliest public exhibitions of a work by De Lue under his own name. The beautiful designing of each piece with its sensuously modeled back, complemented by a splendid base design, is characteristic of the perfection that De Lue was trying to bring to his work” from D. Roger Howlett “Donald De Lue; Gods, Prophets, and Heroes,” 1990, pg. 25.
